OCF

Today I finally truly am starting to delve into learning OCF (off camera flash). I have used OCF, but only with a tripod and a speedlight. And it wasn't very successful.

Last week I broke down and ordered an "official" light stand, bracket and shoot through umbrella. Yes, very "just starting" equipment, but I need to start somewhere! The stuff showed up on my door tonight and I got it up in a few minutes and plopped my (unwilling) subject down to see how it looked. Not bad, although I need some catchlights in those eyes.

I know I have SOOO much to learn, but I am excited!!!!! Maybe I can finally conquer my fear of OCF and feel confident I can shoot in almost any lighting situation!
