Sydney, Cape Breton
Another delightful town with lovely people. Originally the home of the Mi’kmaq people it became the port of entry for 50,000 Scottish immigrants who settled on Cape Breton Island in the 19th century.
During the Second World War it became the assembly point for slow convoys crossing the Atlantic to England. The sculpture commemorates the merchant sailors of these convoys.
