THE GOOD, THE GLAD AND THE ANNOYING

Off we went on the ferry to Yell this morning. It was for either an Eastern or Stejneger's Stonechat. The rain was appalling but after it let up we all emerged from the shelter of our cars and the bird was re-found and we had good views. When an expert makes the decision then we'll know which it was........

The Annoying bit was having people in the front of the group in a very limited width of ground, who did not look for the bird or look at the bird. Their opinion may have been that it wasn't worth getting excited about when there was no definite ID, but I think the rest of us were excited to see the bird, once we could find a space to see it, and that's why we had made the effort to get there.

This is the first time I have asked someone for their 'space' as they were not using it. And I may do so again if so incensed. Flippin' waste of time, effort and petrol otherwise!
