A Single Thread

A book in waiting by one of my favourite modern authors!  I still have to finish a doorstep of a book, the autobiography of Agatha Christie.

Tracy Chevalier is an American author, married to an Englishman and living in England. Her books are always based on historical facts with a story woven into history. She often bases her books on real people, like in 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' which was based on the 17th century life of Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. One could describe Chevalier's books as 'historical fiction'.

It's raining cats and dogs here today, there is no way I can get outside to take photos!

P.S. I made the little hat needle case in crochet from a pattern I found ages ago. The middle part of the hat holds the thimble!
