Strange crop

The strange plant which appeared in the field recently and is now spreading wildly, is clearly some sort of courgette, squash thing which I don’t recognise from the striped leaves.
I suppose it could be something more exotic like watermelon, as I’ve thrown several shells with seeds into the field for the animals.
There’s an avocado plant growing in the

compost bin
