But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. ( confess - literally means " to agree with " )

Psalm 32
Oh what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven,
whose sin is put out of sight !

Romans 3 v 25
For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.
