Rose cuttings bedded down under leaf mould
and protected from the adolescent foxes that dig everything up and roll on anything they can. Initially I was told to try putting cuttings into potatoes, to bury them and cover each with a plastic bottle. Well, the foxes played havoc with those and dug everything up so now there are 40 cuttings just dipped in hormone rooting powder and pushed in and 10 still in potatoes.- will let you know the result. I have been given the formal Blaise Castle rose garden to look after (the Council can't afford to use their gardeners any more) and the bed with gold roses needs as many replacements as I can grow.
