Tunnel
Another grey morning. BB was torn. He wanted to watch his team play rugby, but TT was doing the Tweed Valley Tunnel Run, so we all went to Peebles to support him. We were there in good time for TT to pick up his registration pack and number, then there was quite a bit of hanging about – and it wasn’t warm. When they eventually set off and TT was heading to the hills, BB and I walked back into Peebles to find a café in which to warm up. BB had a rather sumptuous hot chocolate and pain au chocolate and I had a rather more restrained cranberry and walnut scone.
We then wandered around the High street, getting back to the finish line in what we reckoned would be plenty of time, only to find that TT had already finished in just under two hours, faster than he had thought.
We three were then doing the tunnel walk, and so there was more hanging around until that started, and of course the rain started. Thankfully the walk didn’t take long, and it was good to walk through the lit up tunnel, which was quite a contrast from the last time we walked through.
We then headed for the car and home. We were all a bit cold and weary when we got in. Later TT picked up a curry and we watched a bit of Strictly and then a DVD.
Here are BB and TT walking through the lit up tunnel.
