Alcudia

Alcudia is just across the bay from our hotel.  The old town is lovely.  The ribbon development of beachside development that we drove through later is less so.  This picture shows one of the lovely streets in the old town

We were headed for the Drach Caves where we had pre-purchased tickets.   We arrived in plenty of time and had a coffee while we were waiting.   As our entry time approached we made our way to the entrance where we were told we were at the wrong caves.   The ones we wanted were 3km away the other side of the town and we only had about 20 minutes to get there  (no refunds for latecomers!).

We made it with about a minute to spare.  The caves were interesting but in my opinion the French Grottes Dargilan that we visited in June are better.

The USP of this cave however is the boat that sails out onto one of the subterranean lakes with musicians playing chamber music.
