The shadows of avarice

You can always rely on Dickens for a good line.  Currently I'm re-reading 'Our Mutual Friend'  and found this blinder at the start of Chapter 15:
One might have said that the shadows of avarice and distrust lengthened as his own shadow lengthened, and that the night closed around him gradually.

So as the morning was grey and horribly damp I got out an old magnifying glass with an extra enlarging bubble on one side and had fun building a set up that would give me something like this...

Many thanks to Chantler63 who is hosting MonoMonday this month (today's subject, 'Shadows')

And have a good evening  xx
