Boroughbridge Market Well

We've had a little break away to Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire to celebrate my sister's birthday.  Sadly, the weather has been terrible.  We managed a little walk out this morning between showers and I took a photo of the Market Well.  The inscription on it says 'This pump was give for public use bye Mrs Lawson of Aldborough Manor in AD 1876.  The well is 256 feet deep.'
