Sisters Finish Portland Marathon

They were both crying as they approached the finish line. It was Stephanie’s first marathon. She had an injury three weeks ago and hadn’t run since then. It was Elizabeth’s sixth marathon and she hadn’t run in three weeks due to a bad knee. They both decided to run as long as they could and they both ended up finishing, and Elizabeth even qualified for Boston. In this picture Elizabeth had finished and had gone back to run the last half mile with Stephanie, who needed some encouragement. I think she would’ve carried Steph over the finish line if necessary.
