Power cut

This is my 3,000th blip and I guess I should have done something special, but blip is also a journal of my life and what happened today was a power cut. I woke up and the power was on, I went back to bed and when I got up the power was off. It made me realise just how much we take electricity for granted. I was glad of my phone and my gas cooker. There was a bulletin from the electricity people who said we should get power back on by 5pm but I got alarmed when the digger arrived at 4pm and the next message said they couldn't find the fault. I looked out my candles and wondered how much road they might need to dig up before finding the problem, also if they had any idea that they were digging in the right place at all. And then the electicity came back on while they were still digging! Hooray!
