Still smiling to the end
This Autumn's Walking Festival will go down in History as (probably) the wettest ever, as well as being our last one. (Next year we will have only a Spring festival.)
We changed the long walk completely, but they still walked 12 miles. 17 walkers plus a team of three turned out. The shorter walk went ahead as planned because the leader could not see that the yellow weather warning would affect them.
A group of rather damp walkers ended up in the Comrades Club in Haltwhistle where we exchanged festival stories and generally had a good time together. It's always hard when the festival ends, especially for those who walked all or most days.
Here Jean and Gwen are all in the pink together.
Hopefully, next time, I will be walking longer walks myself (and we won't have rain all the time).
It did rain a lot today, but the weather was never as bad as forecast.
