Sunset
Today has been largely uneventful, as Sundays often are here, mainly because the buses stop running ridiculously early and because the campus is closed all day so I have to take a very long detour to actually leave the university. It was very rainy first thing this morning, and the mountains were nowhere to be seen which was very different to the usual clear mornings. I have done some work today, including a short essay on cricket as I hope to teach the locals along with the other nationalities in my class about the best sport in the world.
I managed to almost capture the sunset this evening (my balcony faces to the east so I did the best I could) and captured some fairly cool clouds. If you continue straight ahead in this photo, you'll eventually reach either Oman or Pakistan, thousands of miles away. In the middle of the photo, there's a building that looks a bit like a shark fin, and may or may not be a deliberate homage to the large number of sharks around the island. I've also recently learnt that Paris to Saint-Denis is the longest domestic flight in the world, at around 6000 miles and around 11 hours.
In other news, I tried chou chou today and it was nothing to write home about, it had the texture of a pepper, but didn't really taste of anything.
