Country Life at Crosscanonby.

Crosscanonby is a hamlet about half a mile from the main road at Crosby. The mother church of Maryport is situated in Crosscanonby. The Senhouses who were the Lords of the manor of Netherhall  Hall in Maryport use to walk to this church for services. The wall on the left of this image is the cemetery wall of the church, the church being called, Crosscanonby Saint John the Evangelist. I took this image because of the cattle feeding having been removed from the fields. Incidentally this farm was used by Monks who ran the church in its infancy.
