Parenting - your love them with such intensity and yet the worry is always that you will fail them in times when love alone is not enough to protect them.

I hope that I will have the wisdom to know when to step up and take control of the situation and when to take that step back and trust in them.

Today I have dealt with the hotel that her Farewell Celebration will take place at, the choir who will sing, the school whose children are mourning and are worried that will have the strength to express their feelings on the day, the police who are concerned about the numbers of mourners who want to come to the Farewell, the Family Liaison Officer who is concerned that the family will cope and tonight it will be my friend who will oversee the Farewell and of course the parents who are at the heart of it all...

The strength of emotion is intense from those who are involved in what ever capacity - because we know how precious life and our children are...
