The dropped stitch

Sedums in the sun

Hurray for a sunny day! The second in a row, and I am ticking off the grass cutting jobs. Fingers crossed it's the last cut of the year, but we will see.

The bees are still enjoying the sedum at J's.

There was dancing in the hall tonight. We started the evening with a tiny Circassian Circle of 8. As we danced, more folk arrived and soon there were 13.

The highlight of the evening was a Britannia Two step, usually danced in 3s. Everyone got up, so we had a floating person who joined in creatively with one trio after another. The next development saw pairs, single dancers and trios leaping and skipping with assorted versions of the traditional steps. As a grand finale everyone spontaneously joined into a circle and when the music finished there were roars of laughter and cheers of delight. We had just invented a new dance!

Walking home in the perfectly still darkness I met a hedgehog.

Couldn't ask for a better day.
