Training

I took Oliver along to Thames Valley Police public order (riot) training tonight. 

I don't know what he thought to make of it all, as we walk in the door, greeted by 3 officers who asked 'Are you here to throw stuff at the police?' 'Yes' I replied, 'Great, just head through there to Bay 2'. Free chocolate, followed by running around, shouting (and being encouraged to) by the training officers along with the rioty bit too! 

Aside from the fun and games, an opportunity to see what police officers have to put up with (even if we were the best behaved rioters, very home counties!) in a day's work, especially when it came to the petrol bombing and seeing them having to walk through the flames. Learning how they have to be trained to deal with all kinds of situations.
