A Day and Night with the Animals

Annie’s birthday present from earlier this year was an overnight stay in Whipsnade Zoo. We both took today off as our stay was tonight and the ticket included full access to the zoo all day today (and tomorrow). After arriving in the rain, it eased off in time for us to do a meet the giraffes session just before lunch and we got to feed them which was very entertaining. We then had the afternoon to wander and enjoy a quiet day in the zoo, before getting to the lodges which are small and very cosy nestled right in the middle of the grounds.

Before dinner and after the park closed to the general public, we had a sunset walk where I took the blip, backed by the Chilterns. We had a fabulous dinner in one of the restaurants in the park and this was followed by a torchlight visit to see various animals that were still awake (including lions and cheetahs).

By 10pm we were back and ready to sleep. Please check out the extras too.
