Between fen and mountains

The clockmaker's travelling toolkit

I had an attachment to my old toolbox that was similar to the way some people feel about old slippers. However, the catch was broken and I had been tying the box up with rope. Someone decided this looked unprofessional and so a new toolbox arrived as a Christmas gift! I, therefore, sorted my tools for the various compartments and took the opportunity to photograph them. Most are ordinary hand tools but there are a spring balance for weighing clock weights, oilers, needle files, clock pins, winders and a device for removing clock hands that would not be found in an ordinary tool box. Anyway, these tools are usually sufficient for call outs. All the more specialised tools are kept in the workshop.
