Studying

On my way home this afternoon from an errand, I passed the park which is located right next to my apartment complex, and I could see the boats preparing for their evening sculling training on the lake.  Perfect blip, I said, but my camera was at home and even though it took all of five minutes for me to get it, the scullers were long gone.  I think that during training season they row completely around the lake because I can often hear their coxswain calling out as they pass the closest point to my apartment.  So, there I stood, staring at the lake, camera in hand when I noticed this young student intently studying.  What a great place to study, I thought.  I may not need to study but I intend to follow her lead and come over here with a good book and a thermos of tea.  If she raises her eyes she's looking out over the lake.  Not bad, not bad at all.

Rob, my favorite son-in-law arrives tomorrow for a 10-day stay and I'm so excited to see him.  I'll pick him up at the airport at 10:30 PM.  I know he's going to be tired so we'll rest up and tackle some things I've got lined up on Saturday.  I usually go to Indiana to visit him once a year, but this year I just had too many health issues and flying, etc., just wasn't going to be in the cards.  So, we'll have fun here instead.
