OMG, Poor Froggies ...

Oh My Goodness, poor frogs. Don't show up, don't move, because this chap has deadly precision when it comes to catching prey. And you will never have the time to enjoy the new pvc air bowl I bought for this winter (or what's the name in English ;)) to keep a piece of the water surface open and free from ice.

Perhaps you remember the Unplanned Portraiture of December the 17th? I was amazed about a heron in the backyard under the weather conditions of the last weeks. It happened before but mostly in or at the end of the wintertime when finding food is obviously difficult.

But this afternoon there was a heron again. This time not a 300mm lens but a 50mm on an (Olympus) E-5 camera. Although the picture is taken again through double glass it's pretty, you can even say razor sharp. But a snapshot it is. I didn't chose a b/w version because of the delicate colors on the plumage of the bird ... ;)
