I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing...

A performance by Emma Decent at work this afternoon of her play, I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing, which explores themes around her family life and her mother's dementia. A moving and searingly honest piece, leaving some audience members in tears. It went through their lives together, with some supporting images and recorded voices from her mother's friends and colleagues. Speaking to her afterwards, she discounted the idea that she really exposed herself in the play, saying she was just showing what many people go through. It gave me much to think about.  Is every life just ordinary or is any life ordinary?

My extra is a winsome lad I met at lunchtime.
