Horeke

The start of a bit of a road trip around parts of Northland. First stop, Horeke and the second oldest pub in NZ. It was here too that the largest gathering of Maori Chiefs (70) occurred for a signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
Peter our host is quite a character, full of stories and knowledgeable about the local history. A fascinating beginning to our little adventure.
