Together with a few others, my sister and I were impressed as we watched the ship go beneath the Great Belt Bridge at midnight several days ago but this time dozens were on deck watching it go beneath again.  Apparently there was only seven metres clearance as we passed beneath and shortly afterwards we saw a container ship on its way from China to Gdynia which had only a metre clearance.  The total length of the bridge is about 18 kms (11miles) connecting the islands of Zealand and Funen and, together with the Oresund Bridge, it is now possible to drive from Europe through Denmark to Sweden.
