Tartan Skies

A very early blip from me this morning. The early air was warmer than on many a summers day. The thermometer read 11 degrees at 6am. Insane!

I've often kicked myself for not photographing the sunrises. This morning the conditions were ideal for leaving lasting trails from the planes that I can just see taking off in the distance from Gatwick. Other planes use the airspace above to circle and passage on their way to Heathrow. I couldn't resist the criss crosses of the trails as they illuminated with the rising sun. For a short while the sky transformed into this wonderful tartan.

Less than an hour later, the grey covering we are so used to of late, has re emerged to block the sun.
