Yell
Hired a car for a few days to see a bit more of Shetland and today we went up to Yell and Unst on the ferries.
A super day, chilly at 5°c when we set off and a nasty haily shower about lunchtime, but bright sunshine most of the time. Super scenery, such a shame we don't have time to take it all in. Very blowy, but it didn't spoil our day.
Went to visit friends of LadyF 's on Yell and heading back to the ferry we saw half a dozen seals scrambling up onto a grass bank along the sea shore. The reason was a pod of orcas, killer whales! We saw several fins and a blow hole circling but were dashing for the boat so couldn't stop for longer than a minute. My photos are poor, better ones on my camera but no way of transferring them to my phone to blip them, so you have a photo of my fellow traveller, the slightly windswept Lady Findhorn!
