Happy Elders Day

My Dear Fellows and Dear Princess Normal,

Last night, on our fortnightly call, I tried to convince the Princess that she needs to watch The Masked Singer. This is sort of a singing competition for celebrities* where you have to try and guess who they are.

Now, hear me out. 

Caro has been having so much fun watching this show. It is like The Banana Splits only with better songs and no Arabian Knights**. Also, because they are celebs, you don't have to listen to their sob stories***.

It is a big load of crap, to be sure. But we LIKE crap. Yes we do. And some of them really CAN perform. Caro loved the rabbit doing Poison because it took her right back to the early 90's.

Which reminds me, the other notable thing about today was that Lemon took great pleasure in greeting me by saying, "Happy Elders Day!!!"

Why she greeted ME in this fashion, I do not know.

But yes, apparently it is the International Day for Older Persons today. You young people can play along by making a noise like this, "uuuhnnnnnggg" when you get up out of a chair, then complain your foot has gone to sleep while watching, "Midsomer Murders".

I relayed the message to Lemon (who is only a couple of weeks younger than me) that - according to the Princess - anyone over the age of 50 is technically "an older adult".

"So happy elders day to YOU too," I said.

"Piss off!!" she replied.

Bloody old people.
