Beans, pears, potatoes and bacon
This good old northern German dish has a delicious balance between fruity, sweet, salty and hearty. It likes a fair amount of summer savory, or bean herb, ( Bohnenkraut as we call it in German). All the beans were from our garden, the pears as well. I had harvested them a while ago and stored them in the garage, but now it was time to use them. Made a big pot and had enough left over for three more meals. Freezes well.
