It's started!

Having been lent a book called Niwaki about the art of Japanese 'Garden Trees,' I have looked at many things in a different way and I have wanted to try my hand at shaping and pruning. Today I planted my Pinus Petula (called Tang) into its container at roughly a 45° angle and have introduced a bend into the trunk. The canes and ties will have to stay in position for up to two years.

After this I met RF at the city mill and we went for a quick lunch before watching Downton Abbey at the cinema. What a great film which is recommended to all of you who like historical dramas and love stories. We've had a good weekend! I hope many others can say the same.
