La Pedra Gentil

Took a drive to the nature reserve on the other side of the motorway, and found this, in the evening light. Spain is full of dolmens and not much is known about their origins. This one has luckily been well preserved and is in good condition. Legends and stories still abound of witches gatherings taking place there, abductions of people from small country roads in the area, and all sorts of pagan rituals being carried out in the middle of the night. Also a favourite place for the mid-summer (equinox) San Juan gathering.
But all very peaceful and deserted this evening!
