Michaelmas ( Mickey mouse) day

Happy Michaelmas! I dont know a great deal about it but tradition says that today is the last day to pick blackberries. I was told that the devil cursed the fruit on the last day of September and spat on them ! 
Other than that I'm not sure if anyone actually celebrates Michaelmas anymore.. Anyway there was only one thing to blip today...  Michaelmas daisies.. (or  Mickey mouse daisies as we said as children)
Another wet day.. but it dried up enough for me to walk down to the docks where I saw a patch of flowers, growing right in the middle of a bramble patch.. which is sort of fitting.
