A very dull day
Wet and windy, grey and dull. That just about sums up this late September day. What has happened to the warm sunny weather we had until the autumn equinox descended upon us?
The only outing today was a shopping trip to Aldi. Extra virgin olive oil at £1.99 for 750 ml was a bargain that couldn't be resisted. We also made a quick visit to Wilkies for a big bag of bird seed. Everyone seemed to be out shopping. What a way to spend a Sunday.
Back home for lunch and Ian made delicious bruschetta with the garden tomatoes. I used the rest of the tomatoes he had picked to make a big pot of tomato soup adding freshly picked herbs. We have friends coming to lunch tomorrow. No prizes for guessing what we shall be eating.
Juliette, who spends most days outdoors, has decided that indoors is a better proposition and has spent the last few hours sleeping on the cushion, that I did in fact make for the cats. It's a bit of an emergency blip but she is always a lovely subject.
