Earth Star

We decided to follow a walk we had seen displayed on one of the tourist information boards - it didn’t work out quite the way we expected and we went off down the wrong track at one point but I think we pretty much followed the instructions. I was quite excited to see this earth star fungus under some trees in Pitlochry this morning. I had seen pictures of them but never seen one before. We also caught sight of a red squirrel and I think we may have heard a capercaillie in the woods. After our walk we visited the Heather Gem shop and visitor centre. It’s been a great weekend and we are back home now
