A pressing day
A rather damp day out with the South Lincs Flora Group. pressing plants for the LoveLincsPlants project on Nocton Estate land. I drove up through torrential rain, but fortunately by the time I arrived it had slowed to a mizzle and eventually became dry, though still wet underfoot.
In the morning we gathered arable weeds from the edge of Nocton Fen, while the afternoon was spent gathering wetland species from Dunston Springs. Although the weather wasn't great and there were only five of us working, many plants were in perfect condition and we managed to break the record for the number of specimens gathered in a day - 40 in total!
