Well prepared
The forecast for today was for showers, some heavy. As the walkers gathered to start the first walk, the rain came down in Haltwhistle. The long walk today was called "Follies and Feathers" and was originally a walk from Low Row to Haltwhistle (starting with a coach journey out). That route was deemed too dire in places to take walkers, so a new route from Hallbankgate was devised.
Today, after several days of heavy rain, the walk leader arrived with new maps in order to avoid a low plank bridge, which was bound to be well under water.
Everyone was cheerful as the bus set off. I could not resist this photo of two very well prepared walkers. Not only did they have an umbrella, but one has a small bottle of sunscreen in her pocket (you can just see it). Optimistic or what??
It has been sunny and pleasant at home all day. Tomorrow's forecast is pretty dire again.
I'm blipping early because tonight we have our social evening. I have devised a way to mix everyone up for the quiz. It will be riotous and noisy.
