Snow and Swallows

From our little peak of La Palette today, we could see through to the Bernese Oberland: the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau which are covered in fresh snow now. The swallows (those little black dots) were circling around, preparing to flee the Swiss cold and head south for the winter. They were certainly enjoying riding the cold blast of the "bise", a cold north wind that was streaming over our summit. We had to wear our duvets to keep warm while we had our picnic. I have walked with Josiane a lot recently, she is so fit for someone of my age, and she has two hip replacements! Amazing....
