Sedge Warbler

A short and rather damp trip to Baston Fen to look at some of the rare species such as marsh stitchwort and tubular water-dropwort. I became distracted by the harsh chattering calls of a family of sedge warblers in the common club-rush that fringes the Counter Drain. Most of them were keeping well out of sight, but this recently fledged youngster peered at me through the stems for just a moment.
