First Cracks In Sisi Regime
The first cracks are appearing in President Sisi's authoritarian regime in Egypt. A certain book I know said it was only a question of time and that time seems to be arriving. Tahrir Square is barricaded off tonight and many are already in jail for daring to gather together and voice their discontent with Sisi . . . the 60,000 he has already put in jail in the last few years (at least the ones still alive and not already 'gone behind the sun') must be enjoying a little surge of hope or vindication.
Dd and I were due there in only ten days time but for other work reasons we decided to postpone our next visit to early next year. The reportage-ista in me is slightly regretting that decision!
