I had a phone call last night asking me to drop the dogs back home this afternoon.
D so desperately needs their company now that his daughter has returned home.
It was heart breaking to see his devastation and all I could offer was a big hug, as much a comfort for me as for him.
When I got home I couldn't shake off the sadness and just popped out into the garden to capture the red leaves of the Virginia Creeper before they drop to the ground.
