reading of the IPCC special report

On my Wednesday walk I went down to the Scottish Parliament to attend to the reading of the IPCC special report on Global Warming of 1.5degC. There was a small crowd outside the Parliament with people taking a turn to read extracts from the report. The reader in the picture is the Green MSP Alison Johnstone. The Scottish Parliament unsurprisingly failed to take decisive action to deal with the climate emergency. We are still faffing around the edges. We have the data to underpin the science, we have a very good idea of how the climate system is working, we know what the consequences of inaction are and we have some good ideas of what we need to do and how to achieve it. Yet, we can't bring ourselves to change our society to deal with resource exploitation and the exploitation of the majority of the human population to the benefit of the very few. System Change Now!
