Next year these cranes which have been on Edinburgh’s skyline for a couple of years will be history.  The ugly 1970s St James Centre has been demolished and now huge cranes, steel girders and concrete columns tower over the area as the new shops, hotel and cinema in the St James Quarter are being built. In seventy years will the new buildings also have been replaced and become a piece of history, while the 300 year old Register House built to house the Scottish archives and records, will still be standing?
Thanks to Freyjad for today’s “Piece of History” challenge.
