Flowers for Mary

Stair-rod rain this morning. A promising start for our journey to Cheltenham for Mary's funeral.

Mary had known Uncle Dave since 1983 and been married to him since 1991 to enable him to take her with him to Hong Kong on government service.

Between them, they had raised four children. The service at the Crem was very well attended, a measure of how popular and lovely a lady she was. Apparently she was known on her insistence on cleanliness.

At the wake, I introduced myself to Matt, a cousin who I'd never met before and Jon came and introduced himself to me. We had to laugh. Weddings and funerals is when you meet your cousins.
