Toledo City Gate
We took the 12:40 train to Toledo--just 30 minutes. Viewed from the taxi to our hotel, this imposing structure is the main gate to the city--the Puerta de Bisagra Nueva, rebuilt and extended in 1550. Our hotel has a superb panoramic view from its 5th floor terrace--that will probably serve as tomorrow's blip. We found an excellent Syrian restaurant for a late lunch. After a nap, we strolled to the vicinity of the massive cathedral, closed by then, so a proper visit will have to wait for tomorrow.
