Open mike

A few days ago I was asked by an old friend I haven't met in over three years to accompany her on three songs she wanted to perform during an "Open mike" (Open microphone) evening in Kalmar. It's supposed to be a recurring monthly event, this was the first one. Being the first evening not many had come, it takes time to spread the notion about things like this and to be honest they hadn't advertised wildly either. 

We were six performers and about the same number in the audience so it was fine, and a good initiative. People contact the organisers beforehand that they want to sing a few songs and thats it. The atmosphere was very nice and friendly and every artist got heard and was met with great respect even though quality differed during the evening. Brilliant evening, and our part went well too.
