Great Comp
In spite of the mixed weather of showers and a bit of sunshine, we decided to visit Great Comp Garden in St Mary's Platt, near Sevenoaks in kent.
The garden is described by its curator, William Dyson, as a wonderfully quirky 7 acre garden surrounding a 17thC manor house. There is an Italian garden , romantic ruins and follys, beautiful borders, woodland wallks, and a great collection of many different salvias grown by Dyson.
We avoided the rain , first having coffee, and later lunch in The Old Dairy Tearooms. We bought a small salvia , Amethyst Lips, to plant by our pond.
It was a lovely day out, especially to spend time with my daughter and I managed to walk the seven acres of gardens. I am recovering some of my strength but needed a rest and a little nap once home.
