Looking up from the kitchen sink

...is what I do when I first rise and go downstairs to make a pot of coffee. Its my first check in to the day ahead. Its one of the places I look to for signs and symbols that ratchetts into my intuitive brain. Its here, above the kitchen sink, staring out into the world, we take our pulse, salute the morning, and wish whether really, we would be better off to stay in bed.
