Madrid Wine

Out with Thomas for dinner in Madrid after a successful day at CEU university launching the B5-PLUS in Spanish to two separate audiences...students and faculty. It is not simply a translation of the English language version but a ground-breaking piece of bottom-up research that documents/discloses the particular traits of the Spanish population in terms of the internationally recognised big five factors of personality, compared to the Anglo-Saxon one. Headlines of the more evident traits are a deeper caring for people, combined with more emotionality and a tendency to be direct and demanding. The Anglo-Saxon population put a greater emphasis on more superficial social contact, and also control and rigour. These group traits may not be surprising in themselves but documenting them and being able to use them with an incredibly high degree of reliability and validity to help individuals see how their particular preferences compare with those in their 'home population' norm group is incredibly useful to them in matching their activities to their naturally produced behaviours in their 'home group' workplace.

We popped into this place for dinner because we liked the red colour of the interior and it turned out to be quite a nice restaurant, complete with sommelier. Thomas' company was treating and it was nice to enjoy a truly delicious bottle of Ribera del Duero red wine.
