In Manchester again
Another sunny Saturday in Manchester: that's two in a row!
This week I came in from Chorley by train with the Minx, making an early start and getting into town for breakfast at Federal Bar and Café, after which we went to do a bit of shopping, looked at a flat (too small), met Dan for coffee at the RNCM, had a lovely long walk across to The Jane Eyre* for a long leisurely lunch with our books, and then a final drink at the Briton's Protection before catching the train back to Chorley. Phew!
The Minx had a couple of miniMinx related errands to perform at this point in the late afternoon so she left me in the Ale Station, where I enjoyed a bottle of wine with Dom, before the Minx and I went next door for a curry where, by coincidence, her sister and her husband were also eating.
Speaking of Dom, a while ago he told me that some of the back streets and fire escapes in Manchester were used as stand ins for 1940s New York in (I think) the first Captain America film. I don't know if this was one of those used but here is a Manchester fire escape looking splendid in the wonderful sunshine.
*Really would recommend
